Losing the phone or device that is bound with imKey will not result in the loss of assets.
Because the private key is stored offline in imKey's secure chip, losing the bound phone or device will not affect the assets. If the bound phone or device is lost, please immediately replace it with a new one and download imToken.
When switching to a new phone, there are two ways to rebind imKey:
- Using PIN code and binding code
- Using mnemonic phrases
To rebind imKey using PIN code and binding code
- Unlock imKey using the PIN code.
- Download imToken on your new phone. Ensure you download it from imToken's official website: token.im
- After creating or restoring your imToken wallet, click on "My Profile" and select "Manage wallets".
- In the "Manage wallets" page, click the "+" sign at the top right corner, select "Connect with other wallets" and then choose "imKey."
- Select the device to connect, and when the Bluetooth pairing request appears, enter the Bluetooth pairing code displayed on imKey, then click "Pair."
- Enter the binding code and import the wallet.
- Once the wallet has been imported, the binding is successfully completed.
To rebind imKey using mnemonic phrases
This method is applicable if you have forgotten your PIN code or binding code.
- Reset imKey by entering the incorrect PIN code 5 consecutive times. Set a new PIN code. Restore the wallet using your mnemonic phrase.
Important: Enter the mnemonic phrase directly into your imKey hardware wallet, not into the imToken app. - Then, as with the first method, open imToken and pair it with your imKey.
